Andreas Eichler (mathematician)

Andreas Eichler (* 1968 ) is a German mathematician and professor for didactics of mathematics .

life and work

After graduating from high school in 1988, Eichler studied mathematics and history at the TU Braunschweig from 1990 to 1997 in Rotenburg (Wümme) . In 1997 he passed the 1st state examination for teaching and then completed his legal clerkship at the Salzgitter State Study Seminar . After passing the 2nd state examination, he taught at the CJD Jugenddorf-Christophorusschule Braunschweig from 1999 to 2001 and was a research assistant at the Institute for Didactics of Mathematics at the TU Braunschweig from 2000 to 2005 . In 2004 he did his doctorate with Uwe-Peter Tietze with the dissertation: Individual stochastics curricula for teachers. In 2005 he took on a substitute professorship at the Institute for Mathematics and Computer Science and its Didactics at Bielefeld University . From 2006 to 2009 he was professor for didactics of mathematics at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . In 2009 he accepted a professorship at the PH Freiburg and in 2014 at the University of Kassel . He is the permanent co-editor of the mathematics didactic journals mathematica didactica and stochastics in school .
