Sculpture "wave"

"The" wave "was selected by the city of Wittmund (East Friesland) from a series of metal design works from the artist's early phase. The work of art derives its tension from the size and the way the steel plates take on a new shape - opposing surfaces of different sizes - have been joined together in a wave-like manner. The green environment in which the "wave" has been placed (towards Carolinensiel) underlines the expressiveness: the sea is close. " (Quote from Wittmund's art mile )

"Trace of the stones"

As part of the project “Spur der Steine” (2003/2004) initiated by Freyer as an art symposium, the artist Dagmar Schmidt developed a place of remembrance for the Silberhöhke district in Halle. Of the various designs for the symposium, this one could be realized with funding from the city of Halle. The floor sculpture Grabungsstaedte , a living environment preserved in concrete, simulates an archaeological site. Andreas Freyer and Dagmar Schmidt made the steel molds for the concrete furniture together. Employees of the Bildungsvereinigung Arbeit und Leben e. V. cast the furniture in the Plötz concrete plant and carried out the work on the artificial construction site. Dagmar Schmidt received the 2006 mfi prize “ Art in Architecture ” for the floor sculpture Grabungsstaedte .

SPADDS (Playground at the Dürer School)

In 2006 , Andreas Freyer and Dagmar Schmidt designed an artistically designed play area for the Paulus Quarter in Halle, which was mainly built in the 19th century and has an attractive urban design. For the relatively spacious area next to the Dürer school, some play opportunities were created such as a slide, swings, three carousels, sandpit with water pump, an open-air classroom and a shop. The realization is planned in stages with the interaction of the citizens, the pupils, the city administration, non-profit educational associations and the artists and its implementation is currently being examined.
