Andreas Gunesch

Andreas Gunesch (* 1648 in Sibiu ; † December 27, 1703 there ) was a Transylvanian Protestant clergyman and historian .

Life

Andreas Gunesch attended high school in his hometown and then went on a trip through Germany to prepare for school and church office. On July 1, 1670 , he enrolled at the University of Wittenberg and returned to his hometown in 1674. In 1680 he became pastor in Petersdorf near Mühlbach im Unterwald , in 1685 pastor in Kelling and 1702 pastor in Mühlbach, which he remained until the end of his life.

Gunesch wrote his work Fides Saxonum in Transylvania in 1697 , in which he campaigned for the Saxons, which should serve to build trust and recognition of the same. Gunesch was also a historian who worked on the Transylvanian history of Johann Bethlen, which was published in the Chronicon Fuchsio-Lupino-Oltardinum by Josef Trautsch.
