From 2002 to 2004 he was a master student with Ralf Kerbach . From 2005 to 2007 he taught the basics of painting and graphics at the HfBK Dresden. art

Even in his early work, Andreas Hildebrandt revealed his fascination for structures, grids, textures, patterns, symbols and geometry.

His preference for the element of line illustrates his oeuvre: Over the years, the artist developed a multitude of different variations of the abstract basic form. Whether straight or curved, using this medium, Andreas Hildebrandt arranges meanders , marbling , graining , hatching , loops , grids , knots and the like to create ever new compositions. He mainly works with tempera, ink and color spray / lacquer.

For a few years he has been intensively concerned with the phenomenon and nature of knots, which he artistically encircles as linocut prints and paintings . In this way, the artist creates dense line structures, intertwined shapes and multilayered meshwork that create a seemingly endless depth.

In contrast to his early works, Andreas Hildebrandt restricts himself to a few basic elements - a motif of clear simplicity that offers great openness in terms of content and form. This gives the viewer unlimited freedom for the readability and interpretation of the works. To select his motifs, the artist carefully examines the individual forms and elements, placing great value on their potential intellectual development and effectiveness.
