Ralf Kerbach

Ralf Kerbach (born March 12, 1956 in Dresden ) is a German artist .

biography

Ralf Kerbach studied from 1977 to 1979 at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts with Gerhard Kettner . In 1979 he founded the art punk band Zwitschermaschine with Cornelia Schleime and Wolfgang Grossmann , to which he belonged until 1982.

In 1982 he was forced to leave the country and moved to West Berlin . There he received a work grant from the Senator for Cultural Affairs. This was followed in 1986/87 by a scholarship in Olevano and, from 1988, longer stays in Paris . From 1988 to 1990 he worked in a studio in Val Quieres near Montpellier . In 1991 he received a scholarship from the German-Brazilian Summer Academy in Joáo Passoa / Paraíba , Brazil.

In 1992 he was appointed professor for painting and graphics at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. Since 2010 he has been a member of the Saxon Academy of the Arts , since 2013 a member of the advisory board of the Poll Art Foundation , Berlin.
