Andreas Huter (also Hutter ; born November 13, 1838 in Kaunerberg ; † May 4, 1910 there ) was an Austrian carver and altar builder .

Life

Huter studied with the sculptor Michael Stolz in Innsbruck for two years and then returned home to take over his father's farm. He also worked as a carver and created statues, reliefs and altars for churches and chapels in the Kaunertal and the Upper Court , often on a private assignment. His works are kept in the neo-Gothic style and mostly based on models. The Stations of the Cross for the churches of Kauns, Serfaus and Ried in the Oberinntal were modeled on the Stations of the Cross painted by Martin von Feuerstein for St. Anna im Lehel in Munich in 1898 .
