Andreas Keith-Volkmer

Andreas Keith-Volkmer (born June 10, 1967 in Bad Dürkheim ) is a German politician of the Alternative for Germany (AfD). He is managing director of the North Rhine-Westphalia regional association of the AfD and a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

education and profession

Andreas Keith-Volkmer comes from a wine and fruit growing farm in the Palatinate. There he learned the profession of forest manager , trained as a forest technician and now works as an employee.

politics

As a youth, Andreas Keith-Volkmer was a member of the Junge Union in Ludwigshafen and was active in the peace movement in the 1980s . In spring 2013 he joined the AfD and was won over by Bernd Lucke to volunteer in the area of social media for the party. In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2017 , he ran as a direct candidate in the state electoral district of Remscheid - Oberbergischer Kreis III and in 8th place on the state list, through which he entered the state parliament for the AfD.

In October 2015, a group of AfD supporters said they had walked from a tour bus at Bochum train station to the AfD parliamentary group office at the town hall to go to the toilet. However, the Bochum District Court saw it as an unannounced demonstration, as the group of people carried flags and banners and shouted slogans such as “Merkel must go”. In December 2016 Keith-Volkmer was therefore convicted of violating the assembly law alongside Martin Renner . The judgment is not yet final due to an appeal.

Private

Andreas Keith-Volkmer is married, has two sons and lives in Leverkusen . One cousin is a founding member of the Greens in Rhineland-Palatinate .
