Andreas Keller (trade unionist)

Andreas Keller (born December 23, 1965 in Neuenbürg , Enzkreis ) is a German trade unionist . Since January 2007 he has been a board member for universities and research, and since June 2013 he has also been deputy chairman of the Education and Science Union (GEW). Since November 2012 he has also been Vice President of the European Trade Union Committee for Education (ETUCE).

Career

Keller studied political science , law and sociology at the Philipps University of Marburg , where he worked as a research assistant from 1993 until his doctorate in 1999 . From 2000 to 2002 he worked as a consultant for science, research and universities at the PDS parliamentary group in the German Bundestag and from 2002 to 2006 initially as a consultant for studies and teaching, from 2003 as managing director of the supervisory board of Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin .

From 1995 to 2005, Keller volunteered in the state associations of Hesse and Berlin of the GEW as well as in their federal specialist group committee for universities and research. Before that, he was a student representative at the Philipps University of Marburg, a member of the convention, senate, faculty council and other university committees, and in 1991/92 he was deputy chairman of the General Student Committee (AStA). At the same time he was repeatedly a member of the extended federal executive committee of the Federation of Democratic Scientists .

Keller is a member of the Accreditation Council (since 2018), the European Bologna Follow-up Group (since 2017), the Board of Trustees of the Hans Böckler Foundation (since 2014), the Federal Committee of the German Trade Union Federation (since 2011), the Board of Trustees of the German Student Union (since 2007) as well as several university councils and boards of trustees ( Karlsruhe Institute of Technology , Humboldt University of Berlin , Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg , Fulda University ).
