Andreas Mücksch

Andreas Mücksch (* 1962 in Quedlinburg ) is a German composer and church musician .

Life

Andreas Mücksch was born in Quedlinburg in 1962 as the son of a theologian couple. At the age of four he received classical training in piano playing . As a teenager he gained additional experience in jazz and dance music in instrumental lessons and in band work . From 1985 he studied church music in Halle (Saale) and passed the A-exam. Since 1993 he has been cantor in the Pauluskirche in Halle and directs the adult, youth and children's choirs , the community orchestra and the trombone choir . In 2003 Andreas Mücksch was honored with the title of church music director for his services.

As a composer he writes biblical musicals and Singspiele for ZebeMusic together with Barbara Schatz and Cornelia Georg (née Trommer) . Together with young people from the Paulus congregation, he brings his works to stage performances several times a year, including in the Pauluskirche Halle, in the Erfurt Theater , at the German Evangelical Church Days and the Ecumenical Church Days . Above all, however, Mücksch's works are performed in the entire German-speaking area by schools , parishes of all denominations and choir associations . In June 2015 the Mass in D: Symphonic Rock Mass for choir, orchestra, soloists and band was successfully premiered at the 35th German Evangelical Church Congress in Stuttgart. Mücksch is co-organizer of a new series of services for the Paulusgemeinde Halle Jazz and literature in the service .
