Andreas Mitterlehner

Andreas Mitterlehner (* December 21, 1960 in Haslach an der Mühl ; † November 28, 2019 ) was an Austrian bank manager and CEO of HYPO Upper Austria .

Life

Mitterlehner grew up in Ahorn , a formerly independent community that now belongs to Helfenberg , and attended the Bundesrealgymnasium in Rohrbach . After graduating from high school , he completed a law degree at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz , which he completed in 1985 with a doctorate. He then did a legal internship at the district court in Linz.

He joined Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich (RLB OÖ) in 1986 , where he was trained as a commercial customer advisor. In 1995 Mitterlehner became head of the commercial customer division and in 1997 head of the industrial customer division. In 1999 he was sent to the board of HYPO Salzburg , which was owned by RLB OÖ, to manage the strategic cooperation of Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich, Upper Austria. To coordinate the Landesbank and HYPO Salzburg. In the following year he was appointed deputy chairman of the board of HYPO Salzburg and on January 1, 2004 he was appointed chairman of the board of HYPO Upper Austria.

Mitterlehner was deputy chairman in the professional association of the state mortgage banks of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and in other functions in the Chamber of Commerce. He was also an adviser to the Association of Friends of the St. Florian Boys' Choir . Since 2003 he has been a member of the Upper Austrian Student Union and has been involved in the Julius-Raab-Heim Linz, the Hagenberg student residence and the boarding schools in Bad Ischl and Bad Leonfelden, as well as the Upper Austrian Student Fund. Studentenwerk and the Julius-Raab scholarship fund. Since pupil and student days he was a member of the student association KÖStV Mühlgau Rohrbach in the MKV and the Catholic academic student association KAV Austro-Danubia in the ÖCV in Linz and later the AV Austria Innsbruck in the ÖCV and the KÖStV Nibelungs 1901 in Linz.

Mitterlehner died on the night of November 28, 2019 at the age of 58. In January 2020, the Supervisory Board appointed Klaus Kumpfmüller as his successor as CEO of HYPO Upper Austria.

Andreas Mitterlehner was married to Michaela Keplinger-Mitterlehner, who is a member of the board of directors of Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich . His brother Reinhold Mitterlehner is a former chairman of the ÖVP and vice chancellor of the Republic of Austria. Another brother, Gottfried Mitterlehner, is the head of the State Office of Criminal Investigation in Upper Austria.
