The Raiffeisenlandesbank Upper Austria AG (RLB OÖ) is a company founded in 1900, financial institution with headquarters in Linz . It is the central institution of the Raiffeisen banking group in Upper Austria and the largest of the eight regional central banks in Austria.

Structure and structure

Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich Aktiengesellschaft is owned by the Upper Austrian Raiffeisen banks, which in turn are organized as cooperatives. The Raiffeisen banks are owned by the people in the region, the so-called co-owners.

history

The bank was founded more than 100 years ago as a money settlement agency.

On October 18, 1974, the location on the Südbahnhofmarkt was moved under the name Raiffeisen Zentralkasse. In the years that followed, the Raiffeisen Central Bank's field of activity expanded and the location was expanded. In 1988 it changed its name from Raiffeisen Zentralkasse Oberösterreich to Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich. A year later, the groundbreaking ceremony for the extension at Linz's Südbahnhof followed, which was completed in 1990. In the same year a representative office opened in Budweis.

The foundation stone for successful business development in Bavaria was laid in 1991 with the opening of a bank in Passau. Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich now has eight branches in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg: Augsburg, Passau, Nuremberg, Munich, Regensburg, Würzburg, Ulm and Heilbronn. The development work in Germany was honored several times with the award "Bank of the Year" in the context of the competition Grand Prize for medium- sized companies.

Raiffeisenbank as was founded in the Czech Republic in 1993, in which Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich has a stake. Another division was established in 1995 with the founding of Privat Bank AG, which offers customers upscale private banking and many special services. In 1998 the Kepler Fonds KAG was launched. Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich was converted into a stock corporation in 2004.

From 1985 to 2012, Ludwig Scharinger was General Director and Chairman of the Board of Raiffeisenlandesbank Oberösterreich. Heinrich Schaller succeeded him in this role on March 31, 2012 .

The merger with Salzburger Landes-Hypothekenbank is planned for autumn 2021 .
