Raiffeisenlandesbank

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In each Austrian state , there is a RLB (in Salzburg Raiffeisenverband called), the main owner the Raiffeisenbanks the respective state and for which the institution represent. The only exceptions are the federal states of Lower Austria and Vienna , for which a joint Raiffeisenlandesbank exists. The Zveza Bank , which existed in Carinthia until 2016 , as the umbrella institute for the Posojilnica banks (cooperative banks of the Slovenian ethnic group in Carinthia), was dissolved due to high losses from the lending business. After a reorganization, the affiliated Posojilnica banks have merged to form a single banking institution, which bears the name Posojilnica Bank eGen .

For their part, the RLBs have Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) as the central institution .

For tax and contractual reasons, some Raiffeisen regional banks have been converted from cooperatives into stock corporations in recent years .

Also in belonging to Italy South Tyrol there is a Raiffeisen Landesbank Südtirol AG, which acts as their Austrian counterparts as the central institution of the national Raiffeisenkassen.

Despite their name, the RLBs are not Landesbanks in the narrow sense of the word. This is the task performed by the Austrian mortgage sector .
