Andreas Mohn

Andreas Emanuel Mohn (born April 19, 1968 in Gütersloh ) is a German non-fiction author and founder of the foundation .

Life

Andreas Mohn was born to Liz Mohn , then Elisabeth Scholz, and Joachim Scholz. He is the brother of Brigitte and Christoph Mohn . Only in later years did he and his siblings learn that their biological father was Reinhard Mohn (1921–2009), whom the mother married in 1982.

After graduating from the municipal high school in Gütersloh, Andreas Mohn studied law and economics. In 1997 he worked as a project manager for Bertelsmann Inc. in New York, where he was responsible for the merger of the publishers Bantam-Dell - Doubleday and Random House . Due to health problems, he left the project prematurely. Andreas Mohn is currently working as a freelance artist and non-fiction author.

In the summer of 2011, Mohn set up the Andreas Mohn Foundation, the aim of which is to help "children and people in need effectively and unbureaucratically" with the foundation's assets of 2 million euros.

Because of his multiple sclerosis , Mohn is dependent on a wheelchair.

Mohn is the father of two sons. In December 2012 he married the lawyer Eva-Maria Beermann, who is a member of the board of the Andreas Mohn Foundation.

Relationship to the Mohn family

Andreas Mohn's relationship with his family is considered difficult. The author criticized his parents in the Wall Street Journal in 2004 . He also acted as a consultant for Thomas Schuler's family biography "Die Mohns", published in the same year.
