Brigitte Mohn
Brigitte Mohn (born Brigitte Scholz in Stuttgart - Degerloch on June 28, 1964 ) is a German entrepreneur . She is a partner in Bertelsmann Verwaltungsgesellschaft and a member of the Group's supervisory board . Mohn is also the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the German Stroke Foundation and a member of the Bertelsmann Foundation's board of directors for the areas of health, community and civil society.

Mohn is one of six children of the media entrepreneur and long-time Bertelsmann chairman Reinhard Mohn, who died in 2009 . Her mother Liz Mohn is among other things chairwoman of the shareholders' meeting of the Bertelsmann Verwaltungsgesellschaft and deputy chairwoman of the board of directors of the Bertelsmann Foundation.
After graduating from high school in 1984, Mohn initially wanted to become a doctor, but decided to study political science , art history and German at the Otto Friedrich University of Bamberg , the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster and the University of Augsburg . In 1993 she did her doctorate at the private University of Witten / Herdecke . In 2001 Mohn completed an MBA at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar near Koblenz and the Kellogg School of Management in the United States.
Act
From 1993 Mohn worked as a lecturer at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy . She then moved to the US publishing group Bantam Doubleday Dell in New York City, where she was in charge of Academic Marketing. She also worked for Random House 's children's book publisher and Doubleday book clubs in Canada. From 1997 to 1998 Mohn worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company in Hamburg. Then she worked for the multimedia agency Pixelpark in Switzerland until 2000 .
Mohn joined the foundation's work at the end of 2000. In December 2001 she was appointed chairwoman of the board of the German Stroke Foundation , which her mother Liz Mohn had founded in 1993. The foundation works for better prevention and early detection of the disease. After she had been responsible for medicine on the Bertelsmann Stiftung's executive board since 2002, Mohn moved up to the board in early 2005. There she is responsible for health and community and civil society issues. For her social commitment, Mohn received the honorary award for social entrepreneurship from the consulting firm Ernst & Young and the Ethics in Business Award from the International Association for Human Values (IAHV).
In 2008 she moved up to the Bertelsmann Verwaltungsgesellschaft, which controls the voting rights in Bertelsmann's general meeting, and also became a member of the Supervisory Board, where she represents the sixth generation of the owner families. Mohn is chairman of the supervisory board of the non-profit analysis and consulting company Phineo and a member of the executive board of the Global Social Impact Investment Steering Group, a worldwide network for the promotion of social and ecological investments. In addition, she was a member of the supervisory board of the health care provider Rhön-Klinikum from 2002 to 2020 .
