Andreas Otterbach (born September 23, 1965 in Stuttgart ) is a German university professor. Since 2011 he is a professor of business administration and business management in the study program Industrial Engineering Media at the Hochschule der Medien (Stuttgart Media University) in Stuttgart.

Live and act

After graduating from high school in 1984 and training as a bank clerk, Otterbach studied business administration at the Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg from 1987, with a focus on finance, controlling and human resources management. In 1992 he graduated with a degree in business administration. Also at the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg, he received his doctorate in 1996 (dissertation: Macroeconomic influences on the saving behavior of private households ). rer. pole. In 2006 he obtained a bank manager qualification with a diploma in banking management (Academy of German Cooperatives).

Since 1992 he has worked at various German credit institutions, including as a marketing and sales manager. He gained further specialist and management experience in the consulting, renewable energies and investment business.

Since 2004 he has been an associate professor at the Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences in the master's program in International Finance.

In 2011 Otterbach was appointed professor for business administration and corporate management at the Hochschule der Medien (HdM) in Stuttgart, from 2014 to 2018 he was also the dean of studies in the industrial engineering and media course there.

His research areas are “Digital Leadership / Agility ”, “Leadership through Appreciation ”, “ Hidden Champions / World Market Leader ”, “ Employer Branding ” and “Generation 50plus” . He also works as a trainer , systemic coach ( dvct ) and speaker on these topics .

Otterbach is also a member of the main board of the Sustainable Leadership Initiative (izf).
