Andreas Sturm (born September 8, 1974 in Frankenthal ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and vicar general of the Speyer diocese .

Life

After his ordination in 2002, Andreas Sturm worked as a chaplain in the parish of St. Maria in Landau and as a youth pastor for the Landau dean's office. In 2004 he moved to Speyer as a consultant for the pastoral care of the altar boys and became spiritual director of the KJG diocesan association. In 2010 he was elected diocesan president of the Federation of German Catholic Youth (BDKJ) and was appointed head of the episcopal youth welfare office. In January 2015 he became pastor of the parish community St. Ingbert with seven independent parishes, which were merged on the 1st of Advent 2015 to form the parish of Saint Ingobertus . In June 2016 he was elected dean of the Saarpfalz dean's office. On March 21, 2018, Bishop Karl-Heinz Wiesemann called him his vicar general after his predecessor Franz Jung had been appointed Bishop of Würzburg . On June 10, 2018, Sturm took up his new office.
