Andreas Sunder

Andreas Sunder (born August 5, 1973 in Rheda-Wiedenbrück ) is a German politician ( FWG ). Since October 2012 he has been mayor of the East Westphalian city of Rietberg .

Life

Andreas Sunder was born in Rheda-Wiedenbrück and grew up in Rietberg. After finishing school ( secondary school leaving certificate ) Sunder began training as a middle-class police officer at the Stukenbrock Police School . After completing his three-year apprenticeship, Sunder was employed for three years in Cologne , but returned to Rietberg in 1996, from then on at the police authority in Gütersloh .

In 2000, Sunder began studying high-level police services at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Bielefeld , from which he graduated with a degree in administration. After Sunder had worked at the police authority in Lippstadt from 2002 , he became a teacher at the Stukenbrock Police School in 2004.

In May 2011 Sunder was critically injured in a traffic accident in Kaunitz on the way to work .

Sunder is married and has two daughters and two sons.

politics

In 2004 and 2009, Andreas Sunder was elected to the Rietberg City Council for the Free Association of Voters. From 2009 until his election as mayor in 2012, he was mayor in the Bokel district .

After the Rietberger Mayor André Kuper during the state election in 2012 moved into the state parliament as a directly elected representative, candidate Andreas Sunder as an independent, but of FWG, SPD and Greens supported candidate for the vacant office. On October 28, 2012 Sunder was elected the new mayor with 70.3 percent of the vote. He is the first mayor of the city of Rietberg in the post-war period who does not come from the ranks of the CDU.
