Andreas Troge

Andreas Troge (born July 17, 1950 in Berlin ) is a German economist. From 1995 to July 2009 he was President of the Federal Environment Agency .

Live and act

Troge studied economics at the Technical University of Berlin from 1970 to 1975 . He then worked as a research assistant at the Technical University of Berlin and at the University of Bayreuth and as an expert for the Federal Environment Agency. In 1978 he received his PhD from the University of Bayreuth. rer. pole. PhD .

From 1981 to 1986 Troge was environmental officer in the Federation of German Industries and then until 1990 managing director of the Institute for Commercial Water Management and Air Pollution Control. V. and at the same time managing director of the monitoring association for chemical plant operators . In 1990 he became Vice President of the Federal Environment Agency.

Troge has been a lecturer in environmental economics at the University of Bayreuth since 1993 , where he was appointed honorary professor in 1996 . His academic work covers topics such as economic systems , new political economy , property rights theory and epistemology .

On August 1, 1995, he became President of the Federal Environment Agency. On August 1, 2009, he retired for health reasons.

Troge was a member of the CDU . He resigned from the CDU in September 2009 and stated in an open letter as a reason that it had moved away from his positions under Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Troge is married and has one son.
