Andreas Michael Dieter Wolter (born December 3, 1966 in Offenbach am Main ) is a German pianist , organist , music producer , teacher and composer .

Life

Born in Offenbach, Wolter grew up as a child in the western part of the divided city of Berlin . At the age of six he received his first piano lessons, later on the organ and harpsichord . In his youth he won several prizes, including a. the 1st companion prize in the national youth music competition .

He completed his music studies at the UDK in Berlin and at the Musikhochschule Münster . His piano teachers were Michael Seewann , Klaus Hennecke , Gregor Weichert , Elena Lapitzkaja and Wolfgang Saschowa . He also learned the organ with Cantor Jürgen Schulz and the harpsichord with Tobias Schade .

Since his studies he has given numerous piano solo concerts as well as chamber music concerts, accompanies singers and makes music with orchestras. Concerts have taken him to the USA, Poland , Russia , Austria and Italy, among others . Its versatility is typical: it also plays in small places such as churches, retirement homes and at house concerts, but also in renowned locations such as the Philharmonie Berlin , the French and Berlin Cathedral , in the Laeiszhalle Hamburg or the Konzerthaus Berlin . Occasionally he can also be heard in small jazz formations.

Since 2008 he has lived with his family in Berlin-Pankow .

Professional career

Stage activity

He worked as a composer, producer and musical director for the Brandenburger Symphoniker , Die Darß-Festspiele, Brandenburger Theater , Nordharzer Städtebundtheater , Hans Otto Theater , Schmalzstullen Theater and Theater Thikwa . It emerged u. a. Stage works such as "Spring Awakening" (premiere at the Brandenburg Theater), " The Werther Story" (new staging and premiere at the Brandenburg Theater), " Grete Minde " ( Theodor Fontane ) and "Burning Horse" (Thikwa Theater).

Film compositions

His interest in studio work led him to compose film scores from 2000 onwards. Initially, he contributed film scores for experimental projects and animated films by film students. Later he set TV and cinema films by well-known directors such as Elfi Mikesch , Rosa von Praunheim , Heide Breitel and others to music . a.

Instrumental and vocal music

Andreas Wolter has composed several piano cycles and published them on sound carriers, as well as pieces for classical instrumentation as well as for voice, choir and orchestra. Stylistically, he feels indebted to Philip Glass , Yann Tiersen , Einaudi and Klaus Schulze as well as classical influences .

Educational work

Wolter has a long teaching experience. He works at two music schools, is head of the piano department and has prepared students for studying music. Then there is his work with actors and as a musical director.
