The Andreaskirche is the Protestant church in Kirchheim an der Weinstrasse in the Palatinate district of Bad Dürkheim . It is located on Weinstrasse Nord 6 and is a cultural monument and a symbol of the community.

The hall building is in the late Gothic style and dates from the early 16th century, with some construction sections from the 13th century - such as the choir arch with its late Gothic reticulated vault. The baroque portals bear the name of 1747.

In 1761 the 42 meter high tower was built in its current form; some of its parts are also older.

One of the oldest altars in the Palatinate can be found in the church itself. The Gothic altar was built around 1500 and shows St. Mary and St. Anna, the original third group of Anna's selves is incomplete, the baby Jesus is missing. At the base of the altar two angels hold the handkerchief of St. Veronica. The tabernacle and the crucifix date from the 15th century. There are also two tombstones in the church.

The organ with sliding door action , built in 1993 in the listed prospectus from 1750, has a baroque disposition . This disposition is based on that of Johann Michael Hartung , who was probably the first to build the organ in the Baroque era. Before that there was a pneumatic organ from the Walcker company from 1896 in the prospectus. Since 1990, the Kirchheim concert winter takes place during the winter half-year, which benefits from the excellent acoustics of the church.

The organ has 23 sounding registers in two manuals and a pedal with a total of 1486 pipes made of tin alloys and wood, a mechanical action mechanism with single-legged keys and a mechanical registry.

environment

In the immediate vicinity of the church there is a war memorial dedicated to the fallen from the First World War, as well as a relief ashlar building from 1928.
