Andrei Șaguna
Andreas Freiherr von Schaguna ( Andrei Şaguna * 20th January 1809 in Miskolc in Hungary , † 28. June 1873 in Sibiu ) was an Orthodox Metropolitan of Transylvania from the ethnic group of the Vlachs . He fought for the rights of the Orthodox and Romanians in Transylvania. In 1851 he founded the Romanian grammar school in Kronstadt , which today bears his name.
Șaguna was an honorary member of the Romanian Academy and the first president of ASTRA .
