Andrei Antonevich

Andrej Antonewitsch ( Russian Андрей Антоневич ; * 1968 ) is a Russian handball coach and former handball player .

Antonewitsch played in his home country for the top club CSKA Moscow . In 1993 he moved to the German regional division SG Werratal 92 . He later ran for TSG Emmerthal. With the Russian national team he was Olympic champion, won gold at the 1993 World Championships and silver at the 1994 European Championships . He played on the right winger position and covered in defense on the outside position or as a preferred player.

He later became a youth coach at TSG Emmerthal, SG Hohnhorst Haste and JSG Nordschaumburg and, until February 2014, coach of HF Aerzen. Since the 2017/18 season he has been a trainer at TuS Müssen-Billinghausen.

Andrej Antonewitsch is married to Marina, a former Russian long jump champion. The children together also play handball. Artjom plays for GWD Minden and Nastja for SG BBM Bietigheim .
