Andrew McIntyre (born August 9, 1855 in Bonhill , † March 30, 1941 ) was a Scottish football player . The two-time Scottish international won the Scottish Cup three times in a row in his club career with FC Vale of Leven in the 1870s .

Career

Andrew McIntyre played in his football career for FC Vale of Leven from Alexandria not far from his birthplace Bonhill. He played for the club from at least 1874 to 1885. McIntyre was heavily built and was considered an ideal player for defense. He was known for his good passing game.

He made his debut for Vale of Leven in 1874 at the age of 19. With him on the team, Vale of Leven won the Scottish Cup three times in a row in 1877 , 1878 and 1879 .

On March 2, 1878, McIntyre made his Scottish national team debut against England . In Glasgow's Hampden Park , the Scots inflicted the highest ever defeat in international history in a 7-2 home win, which was beaten by a 7-1 win against Hungary's Golden Elf in 1954 .

Another international match McIntyre completed again in 1882 against England, which was won 5-1.
