society

Nabbout, whose parents are from Lebanon , played for several years in the adult sector for clubs in the Victorian Premier League . In addition to Sunshine George Cross , for whom he made his debut in August 2009, he was subsequently also active for Heidelberg United and the Moreland Zebras . For the 2012/13 season he was signed by the A-League team Melbourne Victory for the youth team in the National Youth League .

Nabbout made his debut in the professional team on Matchday 2 when he was unexpectedly called up by coach Ange Postecoglou in the starting line-up, but the game against Brisbane Roar ended in a 5-0 defeat. The striker scored his first professional goals a few weeks later in the derby at Sydney FC . When the score was 0: 2 in the 66th minute, he scored the first goal in the 78th minute and scored in stoppage time to 3-2 victory. Nabbout was not a full-time professional at the time, but had just passed university exams a few days earlier.

National team

In August 2013, the Lebanese association asked about his availability for the Lebanese national team , but Nabbout declined an invitation, as he hoped to be invited to the Australian national team . On March 23, 2018, he finally made his first appearance for Australia in the 4-1 away defeat in the friendly against Norway . He scored his first international goal in the 4-0 win against the Czech Republic on June 1, 2018. He was also in the squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, with Australia in the preliminary round after two defeats against France and Peru and one draw against Denmark was eliminated in the preliminary round. Nabbout played in the games against France and Denmark and thus completed his first two competitive games for Australia, so that he is now only eligible to play for this association.
