Pearls of Passion is Roxette's debut album . It was published by EMI in October 1986 . It reached number 2 in the Swedish charts. It was later re-released several times.

Shortly thereafter, a remix album called Dance Passion was released in Sweden , which to this day only exists in official form on LP.

Emergence

The album was recorded in 1986 at EMI Studios in Stockholm and released in Sweden and Canada, but was not released internationally until 1997, then under the title Pearls of Passion - The First Album . In Canada, where the 7 "version of the song Soul Deep was on the album, it was re-released in 1989 after the success of Look Sharp! In Scandinavia, Pearls of Passion was re-released as early as 1991. Already in the summer In 1986 the first single Neverending Love was released .

Soul Deep later appeared on Joyride and So Far Away on Tourism .

reception

Jason Damas of Allmusic wrote that although Per Gessle is a songwriter who almost never delivers a bad song, there is too much "dry material" in it. He gave the album 1.5 stars out of 5.
