The Look is a 1989 song by Roxette , written by Per Gessle and produced by Clarence Öfwerman. It appeared on the album Look Sharp! .
history
When The Look was released, American exchange student Dean Cushman came back from Sweden and urged the top 40 radio station KDWB-FM in Minneapolis to play the song. The Look quickly became popular there and KDWB-FM distributed several copies of the song to its sister stations in neighboring cities. EMI Records saw the duo unsuitable for the American market at the time and therefore did not market them there, but in the first few weeks the song was on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 50 and later rose to number 1 for 8 weeks.
When Gessle wrote The Look , he composed the song on an Ensoniq ESQ-1 synthesizer and, inspired by ZZ Top, used the sixteenth note as the rhythm .
The release of the pop-rock piece was on January 12, 1989, in Australia, Finland, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Switzerland and the United States, the song became a number one hit.
In the episode Death in the beach hotel of Baywatch and Scream Queens could hear the song.
