Andrzej Grabowski (born November 19, 1833 in Zwierzyniec near Cracow , † September 2, 1886 in Lemberg ) was a Polish painter.

Life

Grabowski studied painting in Vienna from 1845 to 1846 a . a. with Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller , in Paris and in Munich . In 1866 he became a member of the Vienna Academy, in 1877, after an intercession by Jan Matejko , he became a professor at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts . He mainly painted genre and historical pictures, as well as portraits of contemporary nobility. His younger brother Wojciech (1850–1885) was also a painter.
