Andy Allo (born January 13, 1989 in Bamenda , Cameroon ) is a singer-songwriter and actress . She gained international fame through her collaboration with the musician Prince . Allo has released three studio albums so far.

Childhood and youth

Andy Allo was born in 1989 in Bamenda, the north-western region of Cameroon , and is the youngest of five siblings. Already in her childhood she showed an interest in music and her mother taught her to play the piano at the age of seven.

Career

In 2009 Allo released their debut album, UnFresh . The first single from the album is called Dreamland , the rapper Blu was a guest musician on the song . In 2011, the American musician Prince Allo integrated as a singer and guitarist in his backing band The New Power Generation . He also produced Allo's second studio album Superconductor and wrote the songs Superconductor , The Calm and Long Gone with her . The album was released on November 20, 2012 and guest musicians include Maceo Parker and Trombone Shorty .

On November 7, 2015, Allo released their third studio album, Oui Can Luv , which is dominated by acoustic guitars played by Prince. The album contains, among other things, cover versions of songs by Amy Winehouse , Bob Marley , Bryan Ferry , Cat Stevens , Nikka Costa , Tracy Chapman and Prince.

In 2017 Allo appeared in a supporting role in the film Pitch Perfect 3 and since 2020 she has acted as `` Nora '', one of the leading roles, in the US television series Upload by Prime Video .
