Andy Boychuk

Andy Boychuk (actually Andrew Harry Boychuk ; born May 17, 1941 in Orono , Ontario ) is a retired Canadian marathon runner .

In 1966 he was Canadian champion in 2:35:24 h. At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston , he finished eighth over six miles and ninth in the marathon. The following year he finished sixth in the Boston Marathon in 2:18:17 h, defended his championship title in 2:26:23 h and won the Pan American Games in 1967 in Winnipeg in 2:23:03 h.

In 1968 he won a marathon in Dundas that was too short in 2:17:50 h, was again Canadian champion and came tenth in the Olympic Games in Mexico City in 2:28:41 h.

In 1970 he finished eighth in Boston, won his fourth national championship title in the Around the Bay Road Race , which was held as a marathon that year, and was tenth in the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh . In 1971 he won the championship of the Australian state of Victoria in 2:18:34 h. In 1975 he finished tenth in Boston with his personal best of 2:16:14 h.

In 1967 he became the US champion in the 20 km road race . In the Around the Bay Road Race , in addition to 1970, he also won in 1966 and 1975 over the distance of 30 km.
