Ane (draftsman)

Ane (actually: Aribert Neßlinger or Aribert Nesslinger ; born  September 12, 1924 in Kowno , Lithuania ), is a German draftsman and caricaturist .

Life

Neßlinger's mother was Russian, his father came from East Prussia . His parents initially lived in Kowno ( Lithuania ) and later moved to Königsberg , where Neßlinger attended the city ​​high school Altstadt-Kneiphof at the end of the 1930s . The family lived in Berlin since 1939 . From 1942 until the end of World War II in 1945, Neßlinger was an infantryman in the Soviet Union and at the end of the war he was taken prisoner of war for five years .

After his release in 1950 he trained as a draftsman at the private institute for press drawing AS Skid   in Berlin-Halensee . Erich Schmitt , Richard Hambach and Harri Parschau also emerged from this school .

Neßlinger's drawings appeared in the West Berlin and West German press, including Bunte , Welt am Sonntag , Hörzu and Berliner Zeitung . Since 1959 he has been a constant caricaturist in the evening with his daily column "... and this is how Ane sees it". His comic series “Pitter” ran for nine years in the Neue Illustrierte .

Neßlinger created current, time-critical, humorous caricatures and advertising caricatures. Like his friend and colleague in drawing, Hans Joachim Stenzel , he was one of the well-known and popular "Mannekin" drawers in West Berlin in the 1960s and 1970s . At the end of the 1960s Neßlinger played the leading role in three short films by the Berlin cameraman Herbert Ernst .
