Anette Veerpalu (born July 24, 1996 in Otepää ) is an Estonian cross-country skier .

Career

Veerpalu, who starts for the Spordiklubi Sparta, competed in Albu for the first time in the Scandinavian Cup in February 2012 and finished 32nd over 10 km classic and 29th in the sprint. Her best placements at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2013 in Predeal were 32nd place over 5 km classic and 15th place in the mixed relay. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2015 in Almaty , she achieved 39th place in the sprint. In January 2016 she became Estonian champion over 10 km classic in Mammaste . At the U23 World Championships 2017 in Soldier Hollow , she finished 38th in the 10 km freestyle, 32nd place in the skiathlon and 30th place in the sprint. In February 2017 she became champion in the sprint and over 10 km classic at the Estonian championships in Otepää . In the same month she ran her first World Cup race there , which she finished classically in 55th place over 10 km. At the beginning of March 2017 she came in 57th place over 10 km classic and 14th place with the relay at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti . In January 2018 she became Estonian champion in skiathlon.

Her father is the former cross-country skier Andrus Veerpalu . Her brother Andreas is also active as a cross-country skier.
