Angélica Freitas
Angélica Freitas (born April 8, 1973 in Pelotas , State of Rio Grande do Sul , Brazil ) is a Brazilian journalist , author and translator .
Life
Freitas was trained as a journalist at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). She lived in Porto Alegre for a few years and then went to São Paulo , where she worked as a reporter for the daily newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo and the magazine Informática Hoje . She left São Paulo in 2006 and lived in various countries in Europe and South America in the following years . Today she lives again in her native city.
Freitas' volumes of poetry have been published in several countries, including in bilingual editions in Germany. She took part in festivals such as the Berlin Poetry Festival and the Brazilian Festa Literária Internacional de Paraty .
