Angela Christ

Angela Anna Christ (born March 6, 1989 in Eindhoven ) is a Dutch soccer goalkeeper who has played in the Eredivisie for FC Utrecht since the 2007/08 season .

Club career

As a child, Angela Christ played at sv LEW. At the age of 14, the PSV fan guarded the gate of ODC from Boxtel in the Hoofdklasse . In her first year in what was then the top division of Dutch women's football, she was voted best goalkeeper. Since ODC was relegated despite their good performances, she moved to SV Saestum . Here she was again the best goalkeeper in the league in her first season. In the following season 2004/05 she won both the Dutch championship and the Supercup with Saestum, but she lost the individual title to Nadja Olthuis . With Saestum, she also ended the 2005/06 season with the championship. After three years in Zeist , she moved to the newly founded Eredivisie at FC Utrecht in 2007. Here she won the KNVB Cup in 2010 and was voted the best goalkeeper in the Eredivisie. In the 2010/11 season she won the Supercup with Utrecht.

National team

Christ was the goalkeeper of the Dutch U-19 national team. In 2009 she was in the squad of the senior team called and made his debut on 13 July 2009 against South Africa . She was part of the Dutch squad at the European Championship finals in Finland, in which women advanced to the semi-finals. Until April 2011 it was used four times in the Oranje Elftal .
