Angelfish was a British alternative rock band in the early 1990s that emerged from the band Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie . The music style moves between Gothic and College Rock. Lead singer was Shirley Manson , who was discovered for her band Garbage by producers Steve Marker and Butch Vig when Angelfish's Suffocate Me music video was broadcast on MTV . Angelfish released an album and two singles before the band split up after Shirley Manson left. They performed live in the USA, Scotland, Canada, France and Belgium. The band played their last gig on December 17th, 1995 in Glasgow , Scotland.

Angelfish is also the name of the 1996 album by the English rock group And Also the Trees , which was initially shaped by post-punk influences in the eighties , but later reinterpreted guitar influences of the 1950s in their releases.
