Angelika Köster-Loßack

Angelika Köster-Loßack (born March 17, 1947 in Emmerich ) is a German politician, a member of the Greens from Baden-Württemberg and a former member of the Bundestag .

Life

After attending elementary school in Emmerich and the Elly-Heuss-Knapp-Gymnasium in Duisburg , Angelika Köster-Loßack studied Indology , Ethnology and Sociology at the South Asia Institute of Heidelberg University . Her studies were followed by a one-year study visit to Israel followed by a doctorate in Dr. phil. on.

Köster-Loßack has been a lecturer at Heidelberg University, the University of Maryland - European Division since 1974 and at the University of Applied Sciences in Mannheim since 1986 .

She is a member of the Association of Baden-Württemberg Women Scientists, a founding member of WISE (Women's International Studies Europe), a board member of the German-Indian Society (Heidelberg section), a member of the Society for Threatened Peoples, the Heidelberg-Rehovot Circle of Friends, and a founding member of the HIFI (Heidelberg Institute for interdisciplinary women's studies), founding member and board member of the International Women's Center Heidelberg.

Angelika Köster-Lößack has been a member of the Green Alternative List / Heidelberg (GAL) since 1984, although she only joined the party in 1990. She is also a member of the Heidelberg district board. She was also a councilor of the GAL in Heidelberg from 1986 to 1989. From 1994 to 2002 Köster-Lößack was a member of the German Bundestag . She then headed the Heinrich Böll Foundation's South Asia office in Lahore, Pakistan, until February 2005.

Köster-Loßack was married, currently lives separately and has one child.
