Michael Fu Tie-shan (born November 3, 1931 , † April 20, 2007 in Beijing ) was Bishop of Beijing of the Chinese State Church Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association .

Life

Fu Tie Shan was born in 1931 in Qingyuan County, Hebei Province . From September 1941 to June 1950 he attended the Propaedeutic Seminar in Beijing, the Small Seminary in Xi Shi Ku and the secondary school in Geng Xin. From June 1950 to July 1956 he studied philosophy and theology at the major seminary of the Archdiocese in Beijing , the so-called Wen Sheng College (where the Asia missionary Father Matteo Ricci is buried).

From July 1956 to July 1979, he served as a priest in the parishes of Bei Tang and Nan Tang. During this time he also studied foreign languages ​​at the Beijing Seminary (Beijing Theological Institute). From January 1963 to June 1996, he attended Hong Qi University in Xuan Wu Town, Beijing, where he worked on the side to finance his studies.

He was ordained a bishop on December 21, 1979 (without the consent of the Vatican ) by Bishop Yan Gao Jian (then Bishop of Chang De in Hebei Province).

From July 1979 to January 1992 he was deputy chairman of the VI. and VII National Consultative Conference, Vice Chairman of the Diocese Management Committee, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Bishops' Conference , Bishop of Beijing, Advisor to the China Association for International Exchange, Advisor to the Chinese Foundation for the Disabled. From 2003 until his death, he was Vice President of the Chinese People's Congress .

He died on April 20, 2007 in Bei Jing Hospital after a long illness.
