Angelika Storrer
Angelika Storrer (born October 14, 1958 in Stuttgart ) is a German linguist . She holds the chair for German linguistics at the University of Mannheim and is also Vice-Rector for Studies, Teaching and Equal Opportunities there.
Life
Storrer studied translation and interpreting as well as German and Romance languages from 1978 to 1991 at the University of Heidelberg . She received her doctorate there in 1991 with the thesis “Verbvalenz. Theoretical and methodological foundations of their description in grammarography and lexicography ”. After positions as a scientist at IBM Germany , at the University of Tübingen and at the Institute for German Language (Mannheim), she was appointed professor for linguistics of the German language and language didactics at the Technical University of Dortmund in 2002 and in 2014 the chair for German linguistics at University of Mannheim, which she still holds today.
From 2007 to 2009 she was chair of the Society for Linguistic Data Processing . Storrer has been a full member of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences since 2009 . In April 2018 she was nominated as Vice Rector for Studies, Teaching and Equal Opportunities at the University of Mannheim and has been in office since October 2018.
Research priorities
In the context of her linguistic research, Storrer deals in particular with the grammar of contemporary German, with the linguistics of text and hypertext , with the research of linguistic features in Internet-based communication, with Internet lexicography and with the structure as well as the computer-aided processing and evaluation of digital corpora.
