Angella Issajenko
Angella Issajenko (née Taylor ) (born September 28, 1958 in Jamaica ) is a former Canadian sprinter .
At the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, she won the gold medal in the 100-meter run in front of Merlene Ottey (JAM) and Colleen Pekin (AUS) and the bronze medal in the 200-meter run behind Merlene Ottey and Kathy Smallwood-Cook (GBR). At the Commonwealth Games 1986 she won the bronze medal over 100 m behind the Britons Heather Oakes (gold) and Paula Dunn (silver). In the 200-meter run she won the gold medal from Kathy Smallwood and Sandra Whittaker (GBR).
At the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, she won silver with her teammates Angela Bailey , Marita Payne and France Gareau in the 4 x 100 meter relay .
She became known in the non-sports media when her training partner Ben Johnson tested positive for steroids in 1988 and she then gave detailed information about the substances administered in sports. Your fifth place over 100 m at the World Athletics Championships in Rome in 1987 was canceled as a result.
Then she retired from competitive sports.
