Angelo Barbarigo
Angelo Barbarigo , also Barbarico or Barbadigo (* around 1350 in Venice , † August 16, 1418 in Geneva ) was a cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church .
Live and act
His parents were Caterina Correr and Bartolomeo Barbarigo. On his mother's side he was a nephew of Angelo Correr . After 1383 he was Bishop of Kissamos (Crete). In 1404 Pope Boniface IX commissioned him . , at the request of the head of the monastery, Ludovico Barbo , to dissolve the Venetian Augustinian monastery of San Giorgio in Alga on the island of the same name in the lagoon of Venice and to set up a new regular canon congregation ( canonici regolari di S. Giorgio in Alge ). The young clergy who wanted to live there together included Ludovico Barbo, St. Lorenzo Giustiniani , and Barbarigo's cousins Antonio Correr and Gabriele Condulmer , who later became Pope Eugene IV. Angelo Barbarigo is Bishop of Verona from September 21, 1406 . Pope Gregory XII. appointed him cardinal on September 19, 1408. He took part in the Council of Constance and the Conclave in 1417.
