Angelo Persiani

Angelo Persiani (* 20th November 1946 in Manziana ) is an Italian diplomat in retirement .

Education

In 1969 he completed a law degree and in 1972 a degree in political science from the University of La Sapienza .

Career

In 1975 he joined the foreign service. From 1977 to 1981 he was Minister Counselor in Oslo and then in Beijing . From 1986 to 1988 he was employed in Rome. From 1989 to 1992 he was Minister Counselor in Helsinki . From 1993 to 1996 he was First Class Counselor in Brasilia . From 1997 to 1998 he was employed in Rome. From 1999 to 2002 he was First Class Counselor at the United Nations Office in Geneva . From 2003 to 2006 he was ambassador to Tashkent ( Uzbekistan ) and at the same time was accredited to Dushanbe ( Tajikistan ).

From 2007 to 2009 he was the coordinator of the Macroregione alpina (EU Strategy for the Alpine region).

From April 1, 2010 to March 14, 2013 he was Ambassador to Stockholm (Sweden).
