Angelus Eisinger

Angelus Eisinger (* 1964 ) is a Swiss historian of urban development and planning. He lives and works in Zurich and Hamburg .

Career

Angelus Eisinger is a qualified urban development and planning historian with a background in social and economic history. Eisinger worked as a private lecturer in the GESS and ARCH departments of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ). Between 2005 and 2008 he was professor for urban and spatial development at the University of Liechtenstein . From 2008 to 2013 he was professor for the history and culture of the metropolis at the HafenCity University Hamburg . It was there that he set up the bachelor's degree in Metropolitan Culture . Since April 1, 2013 Angelus Eisinger has also been Director of Regional Planning for Zurich and the Surrounding Area (RZU).

At the center of his research, teaching and practical work are historical studies of architecture, urban and spatial development. He has published numerous texts on urbanity , the problem of retranslation in planning practice and the role of architects and planners in spatial development processes. He is also active in the consultation and evaluation of planning processes and participates in conceptual work in urban planning competitions and planning studies.
