Angus MacDonald (born October 11, 1963 in Stornoway ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish National Party (SNP).

Life

MacDonald attended Keil School and Grangemouth High School . He then worked in the family business in the agricultural sector. He is a long time member of the Falkirk Regional Council and lives in Grangemouth .

Political career

For the first time MacDonald ran in the Scottish parliamentary elections in 2011 as a candidate for the SNP for the constituency of Falkirk East . He prevailed clearly against the Labor candidate Cathy Peattie , who had won the constituency since the first elections in 1999, and entered the Scottish Parliament . In the following general election in 2016 , MacDonald defended his mandate.
