Aniela Przywuska

Aniela Przywuska (born March 28, 1937 in Stara Jania , Poland ) is a Polish historian and archivist . From 1991 to 2003 she was the director of the Gdańsk State Archives ( Polish Wojewódzkie Archiwum Państwowe w Gdańsku ).

Career

Aniela Przywuska studied from 1956 to 1961 History at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun (Thorn) , where in 1978 his doctorate was.

After completing her studies, Przywuska worked at the State Archives in Olsztyn (Allenstein) . From 1965 to 1971 she headed the department for the Powiat Tczewski at the State Archives Tczew (Dirschau) before moving to Gdansk in 1971 . As the successor to Czesław Biernat, Przywuska became director of the State Archives in 1991. The centennial of the institution fell during her term of office. In 2003 she handed over the office to Piotr Wierzbicki and retired.

From 1972 to 1980 Przywuska was a lecturer in archives at the University of Gdansk .
