Anita Girst

Anita Girst (born July 25, 1944 in Trier ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Girst attended high school and graduated from a technical college with a degree in administrative management. This was followed by a completed interdisciplinary women's degree at the Saarland University . She then worked for the city administration of Trier and at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Environment in Rhineland-Palatinate and then deputy head of department for student affairs as well as personnel and budget matters at the University of Technology and Economics in Saarbrücken.

In 1976 Girst joined the CDU. She founded the local branches of the women's union in Bitburg and Mainz. Then she belonged to several local and district boards as well as the board of the Saarbrücken city association . In Saarbrücken itself she held various board positions in the local and district executive boards, where she was also a member of the city council. From 1994 to 2004 Girst was a member of the Saarland state parliament .

Girst is a member of the executive committee and president of SV Saar 05 Saarbrücken .

In 2009 Girst was awarded the Saarland Order of Merit.

Anita Girst is the mother of the cultural manager Thomas Girst .
