history

The ship was named after the granddaughter of the company's founder August Thyssen and later head of the company. The Anita Thyssen was the last of a class of four ships. It was launched on January 18, 1959 at Rheinstahl Nordseewerke GmbH in Emden with construction number 329.

In 1969 Anita Thyssen was transferred to the Greek Karaiskakis Cia. Nav. SA in Piraeus and continued to operate as Nortrans Unity . It has been called Aegis Unity since 1976 . In 1978 the ship was scrapped in Kaohsiung .

Anita Thyssen's sister ships were the Rheinstahl , Arenberg and Otto Springorum .
