Anja Schunk (born December 22, 1982 in Cologne ; born Anja Reiner ) is a former German handball player .

Career

Anja Schunk initially played for the clubs VfL Repelen , SV Neukirchen and TuS Lintfort . At the age of 16 she was used at TuS Lintfort in the regional league . The goalkeeper then joined the regional division PSV Recklinghausen , with whom she was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2001 . From summer 2001 she ran for the Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund . In 2003 she won the EHF Challenge Cup with Dortmund . In the summer of 2006 she moved to the Bundesliga club Buxtehuder SV . After the 2006/07 season, her cruciate ligament tore in a friendly game . As a result, Schunk had to end her career.

Schunk played beach handball . At the beach handball European championship in 2006 she won the title.
