Ann S. Moore (* 1950 in Biloxi , Mississippi or in McLean , Virginia ) is an American media manager. Between July 2002 and September 2010, she was the first woman to be Chief Executive Officer of Time Inc.

Life

Moore earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Vanderbilt University in 1971 and a master's degree from Harvard Business School in 1978 .

In 1978 Moore joined Time Inc., initially as a financial analyst for Time . In 1983 she moved to the management of Sports Illustrated and in 1989 placed Sports Illustrated for Kids on the magazine market. Other stations in her work at Time Inc. were Fortune , Money and Discover . In 1991 she became the editor of People . In the following years she founded several branches, including InStyle and People en Español, and made People one of the group's most profitable magazines.

In 2001 Moore moved to the management of Time Inc. as Executive Vice President , in 2002 she became Chief Executive Officer and held this position until 2010.

Moore is married and has one daughter.
