Anna-Lena Dießelmann

Anna-Lena Dießelmann (born May 5, 1981 in Düsseldorf ) is a German linguist , philosopher and journalist . She also writes under the abbreviation Ani Dießelmann and publishes in German, English and Spanish.

Live and act

After studying philosophy and German literature at the Heinrich-Heine University in Dusseldorf from 2000 to 2008, she was at the 2015 University of Siegen in professional linguistics doctorate . She was a doctoral scholarship holder from the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation . In her dissertation she dealt with the question of normality and its exposure in exceptional situations. As a research assistant at the University of Siegen, she researched and published with Clemens Knobloch on neoevolutionism (2010–2013).

Since 2013 she has been living as a journalist and human rights monitor in Cali , Colombia. She is a member of the editorial board of the Latin America news portal Amerika21 and writes for the monthly Latin America News and daily newspapers.

Since 2014 Dießelmann has been an associated member of the bilateral research project of the Universidad del Valle and the University of Bayreuth and researches the demobilization of the Colombian guerrillas FARC-EP , reporting on Latin America in the German press and political communication as well as image campaigns by the Colombian military. She is working on expanding visual methods for social science research.

As a member of the international network Red de Hermandad y Solidaridad de Colombia (RerHer), she knows the political situation in Colombia from the perspective of social movements. Since 2015 she has been increasingly involved in anti-militarist protests, researching and publishing on the arms trade and paramilitarism . In 2018 she gave a detailed interview on the human rights situation in Colombia in SWR .

Politically, she is active in the interventionist left and was press spokeswoman for the Blockupy protests in Frankfurt am Main.
