Anna-Maria Hochhauser (born July 8, 1956 in Niederwaldkirchen , Upper Austria ) is the former General Secretary of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKO).

Education and career

Anna-Maria Hochhauser joined the Province of Upper Austria in September 1971. During her maternity leave, she began studying law at the Johannes Kepler University in Linz , which she completed in 1991 with a Magistra iuris graduation .

From February 1992 to July 2000 she worked in the office of Deputy Governor Christoph Leitl , and from January 1998 as office manager. From July 2000 she headed the office of the Presidium of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and from January 2003 she was appointed Deputy General Secretary of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce. From September 2004 she was Secretary General of the Austrian Chamber of Commerce, and on July 1, 2018, Karlheinz Kopf succeeded her in this position.

In addition to other functions, Hochhauser is a board member of WIFO and Austrian Standards International as well as a member of the supervisory board of Energie AG Oberösterreich . Hochhauser has also been a councilor in the Upper Austrian municipality of Pichl near Wels since 1997 .

She was a member of the General Council of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank until the end of February 2018 ; Bettina Glatz-Kremsner succeeded her in this position .

Private

Anna-Maria Hochhauser is married and has one daughter.
