Anna Amalie Abert
Anna Amalie Abert (born September 19, 1906 in Halle (Saale) , † January 4, 1996 in Kiel ) was a German musicologist .
Life
Abert was born as the daughter of the music historian Hermann Abert . She studied with Hans Joachim Moser and Friedrich Blume at the University of Kiel . In Kiel she worked as a university lecturer from 1943 to 1971, initially as a lecturer, from 1950 on as an associate professor.
Her work includes works on the work of Heinrich Schütz , Claudio Monteverdi , Christoph Willibald Gluck and Richard Strauss , as well as an extensive history of the opera (1994).
